2015 is the second year of implementation of the social and environmental responsibility programme “Sharing Beauty With All”, which aims to make L’Oréal an exemplary and model company in terms of sustainable innovation, production and consumption, as well as shared growth.

New “carbon-balanced” ambition

In September 2015, L’Oréal announced its new ambition for 2020: to become a “carbon-balanced” company. To reduce its carbon footprint, the group now adopts a dual approach. Firstly, it will reduce emissions from its industrial activities by 60% by 2020(1). Secondly, it will offset the rest of its emissions via an innovative system of generating carbon gains through sustainable raw material sourcing, in partnership with its suppliers.

L’Oréal Corporate Foundation

The L’Oréal Foundation is committed to philanthropic initiatives in the fields of Science and Beauty through its programmes. “For Women in Science”, which, in partnership with UNESCO, encourages women to pursue scientific careers. Meanwhile “Beauty for a Better Life” provides women in difficult situations with beauty care and well-being treatments, and women in situations of social and economic instability with vocational training in the beauty sector, helping them to regain their self-confidence and dignity.
