Consolidated sales for first nine months : 9.4 billion Euros
+17.4%

The consolidated sales of L'ORÉAL up to 30 September 2000 amounted to 9.4 billion euros.

The sales growth rate compared with 30 September 1999 is 17.4% based on published figures, 10.0% excluding currency effects and 8.6% on a comparable basis.

Growth based on published figures is thus higher than the rate of 14.5% achieved on 30 June 2000. The currency effect, which was positive at 6.2% for the first half-year, amounted to 7.4% over the nine-month period.

An increase of 1.4% is accounted for the consolidation of four cosmetics subsidiaries: three in North America (KIEHL'S, MATRIX and CARSON) and one in South America (MISS YLANG).
