L'Oréal is a responsible company, says Vigeo
According to a survey conducted by Vigeo, an independent ratings agency, which evaluates companies' social responsibility, L'Oréal is indeed a responsible group.
The results of the Vigeo survey, based on annual and sustainable development reports for 2005 and a complementary questionnaire, placed L'Oréal equal first in the “Luxury goods and Cosmetics” sector in terms of corporate social responsibility (CRS). The agency particularly underlined L'Oréal's strong commitment to sustainable development policies, reflected by scores that have risen in recent years.
L'Oréal also appears in Vigeo's ASPI Eurozone index, which was designed to become the European benchmark of companies and investors in favour of committing to corporate sustainable and socially responsible development. L'Oréal is also generally included in the FTSE4Good, Dow Jones, and Ethibel Sustainability sustainable development indexes.
Founded in 2002 and headed by French former union leader, Nicole Notat, Vigeo is one of the leading European agencies for ethics ratings.
