L'Oréal remains the most admired French company in the world according to Fortune magazine's All Stars 2003 rankings. The group even climbed one place in the non-American category from 8th place to 7th, and rose to 52nd position in the overall ranking.

Every year since 1997, Fortune magazine has published rankings of the world's most admired companies, based on a survey of over 10,000 senior managers and executives with 345 companies worldwide, who apply a range of criteria in awarding scores to their competitors and other companies.
