Thanks to key themes, analyses, close-ups and summaries, the Annual Report provides a platform for the people who are creating beauty and highlights the initiatives that will lead to the beauty of tomorrow.
Dedicated to the financial community, but also to consumers, employees and students, L'Oréal enriches its Annual Report every year to incorporate new content and formats made popular by the Internet and social networks. The 2020 edition features no fewer than 21 videos, joint interviews and close-ups as well as new cues that put the content into perspective with regard to the year’s major themes. To make it accessible to as many people as possible, the Annual Report is available in three languages (French, English and Chinese) and complies with accessibility norms.
Broad, key themes
The 2020 edition of the Annual Report includes five transversal themes. In addition to the traditional articles (perspectives, strategy, performance, brands and assets), these themes strengthen the Annual Report’s editorial line while providing more information and transparency.
Safety and solidarity during the Covid-19 crisis: The first theme in the Annual Report is devoted to the pandemic, which heavily impacted the year. It includes the measures rolled out by L’Oréal to protect employees, support the beauty ecosystem, and lend a helping hand to frontline workers via solidarity initiatives.
L’Oréal’s solidity and resilience: The second theme in this year's Annual Report assesses performance during a year in which the Group strengthened its positions and maintained market share gains despite an unprecedented contraction of the beauty market.
Research, innovation and Beauty Tech: The Group was able to come out on top thanks to its assets. The expertise L’Oréal decided to prioritise over a century ago is now more necessary than ever to play a pioneering role in a constantly changing sector. From Green Sciences to Beauty Tech, the future of beauty starts here.
Committed to protecting people and the planet: The fourth theme takes a look back at the Sharing Beauty with All programme and outlines the Group’s even more ambitious sustainable development goals going forward, with L’Oréal for the Future. Sustainable development is a primary concern and a field in which the Group has much to be proud of. It has reduced its direct impact and inspired the entire industry to follow. Beauty will be sustainable or will not be at all.
Diversity: beauty for all, the fifth and final theme of the Annual Report, showcases the Group’s efforts to embrace the world in all its diversity. Beauty for all and by all.
