The Active Cosmetics Division boasts a portfolio of particularly complementary brands that cover all consumer needs in terms of health and beauty. These brands rely on ground-breaking innovations produced by scientific advances in fields such as the microbiome.

Optimising the microbiome for healthy skin

Over a thousand different microbial species live on our skin, where they play a pivotal role in maintaining the health and balance of the epidermis. They make up our cutaneous microbiome—an ecosystem that protects the skin and minimises the risk of inflammation and skin reactions. The patented postbiotic ingredient, Aqua Posae Filiformis, included in the formula of Lipikar Baume AP+M by La Roche-Posay, is the product of a partnership between L’Oréal Research & Innovation and the brand’s dermatological expertise. The formula directly affects the microbiome to sustainably strengthen the skin barrier and protect sensitive skin from over-drying and irritation.

A net on the surface of the skin to hold UV filters in place

With the application of Netlock technology to the Anthelios range by La Roche-Posay, a new generation of suncare products was born. Netlock is a patented technology that envelops UV filters in a very fine film, much like a protective net on the surface of the skin, to create formulas that are water-, sweat- and sand-resistant and don’t leave behind white streaks. The formula is also gentler on aquatic ecosystems. But innovation doesn’t stop there: the product’s environmentally friendly packaging uses less plastic by replacing it with cardboard.

Researching the exposome  to develop anti-ageing products

Vichy confirmed its expertise with anti-ageing innovation Liftactiv Peptide-C. The ampoule format delivers the perfect dose of active ingredients every day. Each ampoule contains 10% pure vitamin C in an optimised hypoallergenic formula. Thanks to its scientific expertise in the exposome, the high concentration of active ingredients in its products, and the high tolerance of its dermatologist-tested products, Vichy enjoys high levels of consumer trust.

Expertise in antioxidant skincare

The fruit of dozens of years of research into skin cancer, the SkinCeuticals formulas feature high concentrations of active ingredients and antioxidants. These high-quality treatments are used by more than 8,500 dermatologists, plastic surgeons and medi-spa practitioners worldwide to perform professional and at-home treatments and to complement aesthetic procedures. The brand’s global stars include HA Intensifier, a correcting serum that helps boost hyaluronic acid levels in the skin, and Discoloration Defense Serum, which prevents and corrects age spots thanks to tranexamic acid.
